One of the themes of our 2023 Swindon Open Studios exhibition was 'Cricklade'. Members produced a variety of work in many different styles depicting what Cricklade meant to them.
As part of our research for this we were generously given access to the collection in the Cricklade Museum. Objects in the Museum collection inspired some of the pieces that were produced. We also had a lovely day walking around Cricklade and were kindly given access to St Sampson's Church and
St Mary's Catholic Church.
This gave members lots of food for thought and helped to develop ideas.This work is now on show in the exhibition 'A Walk Through Cricklade in Stitches' that is on at the Cricklade Museum until 9th November 2024. Opening times are 10:00 to 12:00 Wednesday and Saturday. It is a lovely museum and it is well worth having a look around while you are there.
